With the development of economy and cultural literacy of country, parents pay more and more attention to children’s education. Specifically, the educational value of toys for children increasingly become the focus. Toys are the perfect combination of entertainment and education, which makes children get knowledge and grow up healthily under the influence of playing with toys. When parents buy toys for their children, they generally take the intelligence-beneficial as one of the important standard. As the science and technology improve, and the globalization of the economy proceed, parents are provided much more choice of modern intelligence-beneficial toys. Meanwhile, intelligence-beneficial toys are no longer confined to train children’s mathematical thought, but extending to diversified development of intellectual exercise and their entertainment features are more obvious which attract children’s interest more. Chinese traditional intelligence-beneficial toys such as the Kongmingsuo, tangram, nine chain have their unique characteristics. However according to the status and demands of present toy market, traditional Chinese toys should keep up their pace to today’s advancing times, and maintain their own traditional culture and intellectual interests at the same time.This paper takes the Chinese traditional folk educational toys as the research object, and take the children psychology, children’s cognition and intelligence development, and the game psychology as the theoretical guidance. Combining the existing research of intelligence-beneficial toys with some real investigation, interview, observation and other methods, paper analyze and redesign the existing traditional folk intellectual toys to meet the children’s needs and interests. Paper tries to preserve the historical tradition and cultural connotation of the traditional educational toys, and to make it more suitable for the physical and mental development of children and the need of emotion in the meantime.
