Coumarin compounds are widely used in medicines, cosmetics, detergents, deodorant and other chemical products. The coumarin compounds in cosmetics, which can improve the aroma of products, but the flavouring agent also has certain side effect.Some coumarin compounds can make skin produce allergic reaction, causing light contact dermatitis;Even inhibit the liver to synthetic prothrombin and the procession of blood coagulation.In view of the safety of the cosmetic problem, many countries have made the corresponding laws and regulations relate to the coumarin compounds in cosmetics, and also have the research work about the detection method of the coumarin compounds in cosmetics. It is an urgent problem to control the abusement of coumarin in order to ensure human health.This paper was carried out to study the detection method, which is focus on 7 coumarin compounds in cosmetics. Considering two factors in the selection of research objects, restricted or disabled in cosmetics based on the European Union and China’s cosmetics regulations similarities and differences, according to the literature of coumarin compounds in selection of objects, the detection of prohibition and limited components in cosmetics. On the choice of detection methods, with the optimization of sample pretreatment conditions and gas chromatographic detection conditions, establishing the simultaneous determination of 7 coumarin compounds in cosmetics by gas chromatography- flame ionization detector. And the cosmetic samples were identified by GC-MS, in case that prevent false positive events.Research contents and results as follows: In the study of sample pretreatment, using the ultrasonic extraction method, the solvent extraction and ultrasonic extraction time of lotion, cream, powder cosmetics are results from pretreatment method experiments. And the best pretreatment condition is: water/powder with anhydrous ethanol as extraction solvent, and cream with acetonitrile as solvent extraction, ultrasonic extraction for 30 min. In order to eliminate the influence of matrix components in cosmetics, purificated though 0.45 microns organic membrane filter.In the study of GC-FID detection method, this paper examines the chromatographic column, heating rates, carrier gas flow rate to the 7 coumarin components separation degree and the influence of the response value. Finally selected the HP- 5 capillary column, the flow rate was 1.5 mL/min, using temperature programmed, the initial temperature was 100 ℃ and to keep 1 min, with 10 ℃ / min heating rates to 120 ℃, then 30 ℃ / min up to 270 ℃, keeping 3 min, the analysis time was 10 minutes in total. With an outstanding separation degree of 7 coumarin compounds.The detection limit of this method was 0.5 ~ 0.8 mg/L, the average recovery was 80.9% ~ 112.4%, relative standard deviation was 1.9% ~ 1.9%(n=6).This method was simple, sensitive and accurate, and can be used for simultaneous determination of 7 coumarin compounds in cosmetics.In the study of GC-MS detection method, examines the ion source and scanning mode. Finally selected the electron bombardment ion source(EI) and full scan mode. The samples compared with the total ion current chromatographic and Characteristics of ion figure of 7 coumarin components, can be carried out quantitative and qualitative detection as well as indentify false positive events.This method can be used in the detection of coumarin compounds in cosmetics, Providing scientific basis and technical support to supervise and manage the cosmetics market for related inspection agency.
