During oilfield development process, there is need for the use of targeted clay stabilizer, otherwise it will cause the clay hydration expansion and dispersion, block pore throat, reduce the permeability of formation, which will affect the exploitation effect. In the article, the by-products of the production of pyridine (named 3# pyridine bases) are used as raw materials. The epoxy chloropropane and benzyl chloride take reaction respectively with 3#pyridine bases. Two kinds of clay stabilizer was synthesized. The factors influencing the synthesis of anti swelling properties of the product during the reaction process are investigated, the optimal synthetic conditions are determined. Take clay anti swelling effect evaluation and orthogonal experiment during the indoor experiments.1. The optimal reaction conditions of using 3# pyridine bases and epoxy chloropropane as raw material to synthesis PCS-01 clay stabilizer are as follow:the mass ratio of 3# pyridine bases and epoxy chloropropane is 1.2:1, inject epoxy chloropropane at 60 centigrade, reaction temperature is 90 centigrade and reaction time is 10 hours. It turns out that PCS-01 clay stabilizer has a good compatibility with formation water. The optimal concentration is 8% and the static anti swelling rate is 87.2%. The washable rate is as high as 92.7% and the high temperature resistant performance is good.2. The optimal reaction conditions of using 3# pyridine bases and benzyl chloride as raw material to synthesis PCS-02 clay stabilizer are as follow:the mass ratio of 3# pyridine bases and benzyl chloride is 1:1.1, inject epoxy chloropropane at 65 centigrade, reaction temperature is 80 centigrade and reaction time is 8 hours. The optimal concentration is 6% and the static anti swelling rate is 88.2%. The washable rate is 93.2% and the high temperature resistant performance is good. Compared with PCS-01 clay stabilizer, PCS-02 clay stabilizer has better anti swelling properties and weaker water solubility.3. Select potassium chloride and ammonium chloride respectively make binary composition with PCS-01 and PCS-02 clay stabilizer. The optimal compounds are as follow:8% PCS-01 clay stabilizer and 1.5% ammonium chloride, the anti swelling rate is 92.8%; 6% PCS-02 clay stabilizer and 1% potassium chloride, the anti swelling rate is 93.6%. The effect is better than using alone. The optimal compound ternary composition of are as follow:8% PCS-01 clay stabilizer,0.3% potassium chloride and 0.8% ammonium chloride, the anti swelling rate is 92.6%; 6% PCS-02 clay stabilizer, 0.8% potassium chloride and 0.5% ammonium chloride, the anti swelling rate is 92.2%. PCS-01 clay stabilizer is better than PCS-02 clay stabilizer on compound performance.4. Compound clay stabilizers are better than using alone on anti swelling properties and a little weaker on washing resistance, they can also withstand high temperatures ranging from 30 to 90 centigrade, which can be used as long-term clay stabilizers.
