The new-type composite roller is a new kind of extrusion roller, which is composed of a composite roller sleeve and a steel roller shaft. Certain amount of special adhesive is applied to fiber carding in a certain process and under a certain temperature and they will be dried to get the non-woven fabric. The aim is to use the new-type composite roller to replace the traditional rubber roller used in cold rolling production line in China so that it will improve the quality of cold rolled steel plate and reduce the loss of rolling oil. According to the statement above, the study of non-woven fabric used to manufacture new-type composite roller becomes the main research content of this paper.In order to solve the problem studying the performance of new-type composite roller, the experimental device used to study new-type composite roller was designed though the analysis of oil extrusion principle combined with experiment purpose and application in practical production. First, Pro/E was used to create the three-dimensional model of the mechanical device, static analysis of dangerous parts was done and transient dynamic analysis of the device was carried out. In addition, the oil injection device was designed, whilethe pressure regulation method and test method were determined. At last, it was proved that the design of experimental device was reasonable and the device could be used to test the performance of new-type composite roller in the follow-up study. Through the experiment of imported non-woven roller,combined with theoretical analysis, it was found that the porosity of imported non-woven roller was the important reason for its good oil absorption performance.The non-woven fabric for new-type composite roller was mainly studied in this paper. Using fiber and adhesive through mechanical carding method and spraying-bonded method,this paper prepared a kind of non-woven fabric used to manufacture new-type composite roller, which had good oil absorbency. After many trials, the suitable fiber and adhesive were selected and reasonable technological process was determined. The effects of three pressing conditions including pressing temperature, pressing pressure and pressing time on the non-woven fabric of new-type composite roller were studied and through the study reasonable pressing conditions were determined for experimental study;The tensile strength and hardness of this non-woven fabric with different adhesive contents were analyzed to determine optimum adhesive content, and then the porosity and oil absorbency were tested. Experimental results show that when pressing the non-woven fabric, the pressing temperature, pressing pressure and pressing time should be respectively set to 166℃, 0.5MPa and 15min;through this technology, when the adhesive content reached 43%, thenon-woven fabric had the highest tensile strength reaching 19.110 kgf, whose hardness was 73.5A; the porosity and oil absorption rate arrived at 42.7% and45.2% respectively; this kind of non-woven could meet the requirements of manufacturing the new-type composite roller. The research of this subject has reached the goal of developing a non-woven fabric with excellent performance for the production of new-type composite roller.
