In the formation of gob for thick seam exploited with outburst hazard along goaf side seam,the mine stress and gas distribution will redistribute, which form the pressure zone and the outburst zone. Based on “gas outburst prevention regulations”, at least20 m of upper contour line, 10 m of next to the contour and 15 m other side contour lines for the roadway must eliminate the risk of outburst. Therefore, the study of the coal stress and gas distribution along goaf side of the coal mine is of great significance.Firstly, the paper introduce original gas content and original in-situ stress and methods for measuring the drilling cutting and gas content in the 3103 working surface along goaf side of Hebi mine eight; Secondly, based on field measured drilling dust content and gas content and the related theories, the paper analysis the distribution law of mine stress and under experiment condition. Finally, this paper use the software named COMSOL Multiphysics numerical simulate the stress and gas content to verify with stress and gas distribution under experiment condition each other.The results show that the maximum position of gas pressure is after the peak of the stress in the 3103 working surface along goaf side of Hebi mine eight and the width of stress relief area is 7.73 m, the location of the peak ground pressure is about 11 m, the pre-exhaust gas roadway width should be 13 m or more and gets the law of pre-exhaust gas roadway width changing with exposure time of rib..
