The Application Research Of Felt In Interior Space Interface Design

Felt is a product that using the wool fibers through the wet, kneading, extrusion and other characteristics of felting with wool and other animal hair or chemical fiber as raw material. Ethnic minorities in northwest China was widely used felting technique as early as the neolithic period, which created soft and comfortable, clean and beautiful, durable felt products by hand. It is has been forgotten by the people after years of change. Today this kind of green environmental protection material is back with the people on the strengthening of environmental awareness and the spread by felt craftsmen, which began to change from traditional nation craft to the modern.Each nation’s felt products have their own unique style for this ancient form of textile, which represents the wisdom of ancient Chinese ethnic minorities and love of natural life. However, domestic only has a certain research in the field of product design for the use of carpet in addition to the industrial, medical, etc., the seldom study and application in terms of interior space interface design. This paper through research the application of felt in interior space interface design to explore the new direction for the development of modern design in the future, and find the quality between traditional craft and modern technology as well as carry forward and inheriting the traditional culture, also awaken people awareness of environmental protection and green living.This paper started from outlined the definition, historical development, making principle, raw materials, classification and production technology of felt; Then the feasibility of felt in interior space interface design are analyzed from practical and decorative; Next, analyzed the specific application of felt in space interface design from three parts of the wall, top surface and floor; then the technique in modern interior decoration for felt are analyzed; finally, a kind of design have been planned. Hope that through the analysis and summary will help people have a comprehensive and deep understanding of felt in the application of interior space interface design as well as expanding the area of felt in the application of modern design.This paper carried on the systematic carding and analysis of the application in interior space interface design for felt by the methods of literature review, image analysis, induction and the method of combining theory with practice, which can generalize it to the modern interior decoration design to make the warm plain material more appear in people’s daily lives.
