| Universally accepted, ecological crisis has been the focus of all the human beings since the last half of twentieth century. Respecting on the root, we rendered the perspective of anthropocentrism as the main cause, especially for the idea of Marxist one, which concentrates on its anti-ecology and is expressed out as the "domination of nature". Facing the charges from environmentalists, Reiner Grundmann as the contemporary eco-Marxist shielded Marxist theories from ontology, epistemology and axiology. Through the analysis of anthropocentrism and "domination of nature" of Marxism, Professor Grundmann held the position of Marxist by the reinterpretation of Marxist historical materialism. The thesis applies the methods of text reading, comparative analysis and theory-practice to study Mr. Grundmann’s theory of eco-Marxism. First, draw his theory of eco-Marxism from historical retrospection through Marx’s ecology, anthropocentrism and eco-centrism, as well as practical background of global ecological crisis and green activities. Second, interpret his theory of eco-Marxism, including "domination of nature" and Marxist anthropocentrism. Third, evaluate the theoretical contribution and practical limit of Mr. Grundmann’s eco-Marxism through the analysis of "domination of nature" and promotion of technology. According to my thesis, we can conclude that Mr. Grundmann’s eco-Marxism pushes Marxism forward and assists the resolution of ecological problems. In conclusion, study on Mr. Grundmann’s eco-Marxism contributes more to the theoretical and practical meanings. Theoretically, the thesis exhibits the developmental path of eco-Marxism through the relation among Mr. Grundmann and other eco-Marxists, and eases the readers to catch the academic frontier of western eco-Marxism, which pushes Marxism forward and rejuvenates historical materialism. Practically, the thesis inherits Marxist scientific spirit and methods to guide us to analyze the ecological present and to solve the problem, which is beneficial for the scientific development and ecological civilization in China. |
