With the rapid development of economy and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for construction is increasing rapidly. However, with the rapid development of the construction industry, energy and environmental problems have emerged, especially the environmental problems have been concerned by people. Today the fog and haze weather has brought a lot of trouble to people’s life and people are increasingly aware of the relationship between environment and health. The construction of a variety of residential, shopping malls, office buildings and other buildings will consume a lot of energy and natural resources, and subsequently some gases harmful to the environment and people’s health are emanated, which caused serious damage to the atmosphere, water and ecological environment. In order to analyze and reduce the impact of buildings on the environment, the method of life cycle can be used to evaluate the impact of buildings on the environment.Based on the theory of life cycle assessment, the Simapro software and Eco-indicator 99 theory are also used, this paper carried out the life cycle assessment of main structure of a high-rise residential building project in Zhengzhou. Energy consumption and pollution emissions from different materials and stages are discussed respectively, and the environmental impact was obtained through the impact assessment,so as to confirm the material and stage which have the biggest impact on the environment. At the same time, this paper also analyzes the different environmental impact categories of the project and the process contribution material affecting the environment. The environmental impact category who show the maximum contribution and the major contribution material are identified. The main materials contributing to the fog and hazein every environmental impact category are confirmed, and give the corresponding solutions, so as to achieve the goal of energy saving, emission reduction, reducing fog and haze and protecting the environment.
