Because of simple equipment, easy operation, small footprint and high transmission efficiency,the progressing cavity pump as a new type of oil pump, has been widely used in crude production for many oilfield in China recent years. The working process of the screw pump,rotor and stator lifting by meshing movement of liquid. Stator is usually outside the steel bushing and internal casting composite surface of rubber bushing, the rotor is processed by alloy steel,chrome plating, grinding process is complete. Shape to the screw pump surface quality and service life of the intimate contact, the rotor surface quality of high and low, directly affects the service life of screw pump, the work of this paper is mainly on the surface of the screw pump rotor shape finishing were studied.This paper analyzes the screw pump and processing methods commonly used at home and abroad, according to the principle of the screw surface forming, linear analysis of screw pump,through the study of the focus of abrasive belt grinding principle analysis, and according to the theory of abrasive belt grinding for blade contact and tool path analysis and calculation, for screw pump rotor grinding machine tool design and motion analysis lay the foundation.Main finish machining method with abrasive belt grinding as this paper, first of all,according to the principle of abrasive belt grinding to remove analyzing the grinding process of the workpiece, based on the mathematical model of screw pump, knowing that the transverse section and the axial section of mathematical expressions, the level of screw pump and processing information and the surface normal vector. Then based on the combination of abrasive belt grinding characteristics for tool path planning, and on the basis of design for screw pump rotor machining of abrasive belt grinding machine configurations.
