The status and characteristics of the technique, equipment and application of Supercritical fluid(SCF) dyeing are reviewed and analyzed in this paper, and the problems of the SCF dyeing for industrial promotion are summered and the value and application prospect of SCF jig dyeing.The shortcomings of current SCF dyeing process are analyzed, and a new process which has many advantages such as low investment, low operating cost,short preparation time, simple efficient and suitable for industrial is designed, and specific embodiments of this process is described.On the basis of the original design by our group, an improved SCF jigger has been designed. In the structure of this SCF jigger, a lot of optimization has been made in some areas such as the way how to put the cloth roller and the path that fabric goes along, so the inner space of SCF jigger can be made full use of and the production efficiency is increased dramatically.The use of improved SCF dyeing apparatus were carried out with Disperse Red 60, Disperse Red E-4B, Disperse Blue 79, ECO300% dispersion test black dyed polyester fibers, which disperse red 60 at 25MPa,120℃ dyeing process conditions polyester fabric meets the quality standards of water dyed to obtain a more satisfactory test results prove the feasibility of SCF dyeing process.We establish the model of the inner space for the SCF jigger, and simulate the flow field of jig dyeing process with different outlet pipe sizes. According to the simulation results, it can be found that the bigger outlet pipe size within limits helps to gain a uniform and steady flow field on the nearly surface of fabric which benefits the dyeing rate and dye-uptake, and it also prevents the SCF dye from taking a shortcut.
