As currently the international crude oil prices are still declining, oil field has abandoned the original thought:focus on efficiency improvement and cost reduction instead of only pay attention to the increase in output. Additional requirements have been advanced to the petroleum downhole tools, which are made more and more quickly and efficiently.At present, high speed bits have been created in foreign countries. Through these practices, the high speed bits have already exhibited many advantages: they can improve drilling efficiency greatly and most importantly save the cost. But lack of studies on domestic, based on this, this paper select high speed PDC bit as the research object, to study its design and manufacture, the design with the help of geometry, statics and explicit dynamics, finding the most suitable crown shape type for high-speed PDC bit, and the corresponding designing parameters. In addition to the number of blades, the form of blades arrangement, and also the radial coordinates, the circumferential coordinates, angular position of the cutting teeth have also been researched,so do the back rake and the side rake of the cutting teeth, then finally finish the design.Through the parametric design,we can easily design the bit.The manufacturing sector, with the help of virtual manufacture software UG 8.0,this paper has research on the steel bodied high-speed PDC bit’s manufacturing processing,has completed the simulation of its manufacturing processing。This paper has established the parameters for the processing, then use VB6.0 with Access to have a redevelopment on SolidWorks, to achieve integration on design and simple manufacturing on high speed PDC bit.In order to improve the performance of high speed of PDC bit, a large number of PDC slices are needed,so the section line length is longer than the other, and through the analysis of PDC bit crown features, and also through some assumptions and simplifications, final choice is line-arc-arc profiles. The crown profile has been choose, the bit cutting teeth position should be considered:radial tooth design and circumferential tooth design, radial tooth design, that is, to determine the radial coordinates and bottom cover map, circumferential tooth design determines the number of blades, the form of blades arrangement, besides the radial coordinates, the circumferential coordinates and angular position of the cutting teeth have also been researched. Through nonlinear software ANSYS LS-DYNA, this paper has a research on the back rake and side rake of the cutting tooth, designing for the side rake has better within the degree from 15 to 21, the best angle is 21 degrees, the recommended back rake is from 15 to 19, the best is 19 degrees. The coordinate parameter of high speed PDC bit cutting teeth was determined through the construction of a coordinate system, it is about the space position and angle, then use ANSYS Workbench to analyze the strength of the final assembly. The numerical simulation results show that the design of the high speed PDC bit meets the needs of the strength, and in theory it can meet the needs of the field.According to the proposed "Made In China 2025", and combine with manufacturing industry development in the future, this paper has an research on the popularize type high speed PDC bit, steel bodied, due to the high speed of PDC bit with complex contour:surface close to the vertical, and a lot of tooth socket and nozzles, the manufacturing processing is difficult to finish. Having a basic introduction on the NC Machining Technology, then with the help of advanced virtual manufacturing software UG8.0 software, the numerical control processing technology and the corresponding technical parameters have been studied.Having a simulation process of the design of the product model,and it can be divided into three axis and five axis NC machining, three axis NC machining can be divided into four parts, five axis NC machining can also be divided into two parts. Focusing on the numerical control processing technology and the analogous mechanical parameters of the study, obtained the suitable process parameters.For The research of the above problems, the API function in SolidWorks software has been discussed, VB6.0 programming language and access database are also been introduced, and SolidWorks re-development principles have also been discussed, then develop a corresponding software,, the software contains six part:crown shape, blade system, PDC cutting tooth socket, teeth arrangement design, assembly and manufacturing system, these six parts basically covers all the contents of the design and manufacture of high speed PDC bit, through this software demonstrating, we can see that the software can satisfy the design of high speed PDC bit, but only part of the manufacturing process, manufacturing parts have to be perfect, and this software can have certain guiding significance on the field practice.Through this research, the first part is the design of high speed PDC drill bit: crown shape, tooth arrangement design has some achievements, through comparing the characteristics of three kinds of crown profile and combining with the characteristics of high speed PDC bit, find one profile that meet with the high speed PDC bit crown profile, through the corresponding parameters, its design has been completed. By comparison with the maximum shear force and axial force under the circumstances of different cutting tooth, the angles have been selected and optimized; secondly, the completion of the manufacture of multi axis NC machining of high speed PDC bit through the simulation processing of UG8.0, and get its machining parameters and tool path diagram. Through appropriate improvement can better meet the production practice and guide the practice; finally, through VB6.0 and Access database have a redevelopment on SolidWorks, completing the high-speed PDC bit design and manufacturing software, the software can put high-speed PDC bit design and manufacturing parts together, this software can enable high-speed PDC bit design simple, parametric, save a lot of time, and improve efficiency and the processing parameters can be checked. Overall, this research plays an important role in its promotion and future development.
