The high-speed machining technology allures most manufacturers for its great increases in material removal rate, machining accuracy, surface quality, and decreasing in machining cost. Thus, the HSM technology can increase the profitability and competitiveness of a machine shop. It is very imperative to develop high-speed cutting database to provide appropriate cutting parameters for the manufacturing industry.Until now there are short of HSM parameters used in practice, and Auto Die High-speed Cutting Database Systems are hardly used too. And the situations such as influence processing quality and process efficiency of the part and leading to the cutter is worn and torn generally exist because of cutting the craft parameter to choose improperly, the running off of a large number of instance data and experience data has caused the wasting seriously of resources again. The main goal of this paper is to structure a database system of craft parameter of auto die high-speed machining. The mould manufacturing company have accumulated HSM cases, cutting parameters and experience combining cutter, work piece, lathe and enterprise's own actual conditions in producing actually. By utilizing data chosen from the above resources, not only can save a large amount of material resources, financial resources but also can supervise production practices at a high speed in order to improve the efficiency of processing, reduce the cutter expenses, obtain higher economic benefits.In this dissertation, First of all, the systematic structure of a high-speed craft database of mould cuts has been developed. It is based on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 as a data base management system. Secondly, UG interfaces are provided by programming with VC++, in this way users can transfer data in UG directly. Users do not need to switch over among the procedures, so can improve programming efficiency; Thirdly Case-Based Reasoning as a problem-solving approach of the artificial intelligence to solve a new problem by using the solutions of the old problems is presented. CBR is also an incremental and sustained learning approach. It enables the system learn from storing new case and experience.There are many matters to in-depth research, for example research of the case of rewriting, optimizing of HSM parameters and perfection of system and so on.
