The color of the fabric has always been the focus of attention, it is related to textiles closely and influencing its use and consumption. Silk fabric was selected as a color carrier and the visual cognitive evaluation of silk fabric color were studied in this paper.For different silk fabric colors, consumer subjective cognitive trends and buying behavior were studied by345 market questionnaires in this paper. The results as follows:women preference red, yellow, blue, black, white, green and purple colors of silk fabric,while gray and brown low brightness colors of silk fabrics are more favored by men.For silk fabric color, psychological research methods-cognitive behavior were used to research people’s cognitive evaluation trends and difference of different color silk fabricby66 subjects cognitive evaluation score. Analysis results showed that the lower the brightness of red, yellow, blue silk sample, the more gorgeous of rustic-gorgeous visual cognition is; Gray silk sample visual cognition is that gorgeous reduce first and then increased with the brightness reducing. Correlation analysis indicate: visual cognitive scores of red, yellow, blue sample rustic-gorgeous and elegant-warm, blue sample like-hate,gray sample elegant-warm are significant correlated with their brightness value; Gray sample like-hate visual cognitive scores and their brightness value are significantly correlated; Red and yellow sample like-hate and gray sample rustic-gorgeous visual cognitive scores and their lightness value are not significantly correlated.Based on the above studies, incubation period and maximum peak of event-related potentials(ERP) P1 and P2 component were analyzed to explore the brain’s visual cognitive time process, trends and differences of different colors silk fabrics. Maximum peak of red and blue silk fabric stimulation with the same brightness P1 component are not significantly different and which means the speed of stimulation transfer is closer, red silk fabric stimulation has higher maximum peak of P1 component than blue and can evoke greater visual attention; Maximum peak of its P2 component was not significantly different and which means the visual cognitive intensity be evoked is closer, red has longer incubation period than blue and its cognitive processing is slower. Maximum peak of redsilk fabric with low, middle, high brightness P1 component are not significantly different and which means the intensity of visual stimulation is closer, but incubation period get longer and the speed of visual impact be evoked get faster With the brightness increasing;The middle brightness of red silk fabric has the highest maximum peak of P2 component and which means the visual cognition intensity be evoked by it is higher, the higher the brightness of the red silk fabric the longer incubation period is and the slower the speed of human visual cognitive processing is.
