River is an important part of terrestrial ecosystem. With the development of industrial construction and economic demand, the damage that come from the development and utilization of the river carried out by human without ecological compensation is often greater than its own self-healing threshold, which cause the river ecological environment deteriorated. After realizing the importance of the river, people use all kinds of river ecological restoration techniques to improve the river ecological status. Numerous studies have proposed a variety of ecological restoration technologies, and applied them to the engineering practice, however the evaluation of river ecological restoration research mainly focuses more on the city section than the country section. Due to the river morphology and the function of city section and country section are not exactly the same, the effect of the river restoration and technologies of them has certain differences. Based on this, this article will evaluate the effect of river ecological restoration in country section, hoping to provide some references.First, in this paper, based on the ecological restoration technology research status and evaluation research at home and abroad, combining with the characteristics of country section of Beijing Yongding River and its ecological restoration effects which are water environment, ecological environment, safety, social and economic benefits, on the basis of reading and referring to the literature material on the practice and effect evaluation of river ecological restoration at home and abroad, selects 30 evaluation index to four aspects:river channel ecological function, river bank ecological function, river safety fenction and social economic function, according to the four principles:objective, systematic, emphasis, combining quantitative index and qualitative index together, and divides them into 12 categories:including river water quality, river bank vegetation, river bank safety, water landscape entertainment function, etc,according to the four functions above.Second, using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to preliminary determine the index weight and entropy evaluation method to adjust the initial weight to determine the final weight of each index, establishes a set of comprehensive evaluation index system on effect evaluation of river ecological restoration in country section of Beijing Yongding River. Taking the mother river of Beijing, Beijing Yongding River, as the object of this study, summarizes the ecological restoration technologies constructed. Also, aiming at ecological restoration technologies in 13 investigation sites, including two aspects; river channel and bank ecological restoration technology, obtaining data by data collection and on-site field investigation, evaluates the ecological restoration effect on the 13 investigation sites using the evaluation index system established.Third, the evaluation results are ranked according to the score values and are sorted into four levels: very good, good, general and poor. Ecological restoration technologies on investigation site 2,7,9,8 are sorted into the very good level; those on investigation site 4,6,13 are sorted into good level; those on investigation site 5,12,3 are sorted into general level,and those on investigation site 1,10,11 are sorted into poor level.Finally, a summary of this paper’s contents is given and the evaluation system and method is practicable. Through detailed analysis and discussion of the evaluation results,the effect of ecological restoration of each site is definite, and suggestions are put forward for improvement for those of less good evaluation results and less suitable ecological restoration technologies. Hope that the result can provide references for future environmental ecological restoration of the studied area or other similar rivers.
