At present, the non-standard parts of moldbase are used increasingly, and the proportion is increasing continuously, which tends to be complicated, high-accuracy and modeled. The research of moldbase stays in the development of standard parts library, pays the less attention to the research and development of non-standard parts, so that the range of application of the products is limited, and the flexibility is greatly reduced. In order to meet the market requirement, increase product categories and reduce human input, the parametric design and development of injection moldbase based on Pro/E were proposed in this task. The development system of non-standard parts is combined with the development system of moldbase to form a set of development system which has the functions of human-computer interaction, model design and automatic modeling.Considering that the majority of non-standard moldbase products are developed from standard parts, the moldbases and forms of products are basically consistent. The only difference on some certain parts is because of the special requirements. Therefore, parametric building was conducted to injection moldbase, and the variables controlling basic parameters such as size, shape and location of products were substituted correspondingly. Further, the associated parametric variables were related through relational expressions to build parametric model for injection moldbase. Afterwards, the built-in secondary development function Pro/Toolkit of Pro/E was used to compile and design tools such as menu and dialog box in VC 6.0 environment to reach human-computer interaction. The known conditions and parameters were input to make the software design the corresponding moldbase structures automatically so as to achieve design automation on moldbase. When improving the effectiveness, a lot of repetitive work is reduced for product design.First, the task rationalizes the method of parametric modeling of injection moldbase,summarizes the design method of each parts of moldbase; Second, The combination of the two methods of using UI and MFC mode completes the design of system dialog box, and the two methods are compared and analyzed; Finally, According to features of the standard parts and non-standard parts, proposes a method based on standard parts for non- standard parts,achieves the compatibility design of standard parts and non- standard parts.
