The Analysis Of The Technological View Of Ecological Modernization Theory

In recent years, people’s living condition has changed greatly. Technological survival has gradually replaced natural survival. Technological survival not only changes the relation between human beings, but also changes the relation between human beings and nature. Technology is an old subject. There are many schools discussing how to treat technology. The undeniable fact accompanied technological survival is that, ecological environment crisis is getting worse. This fact triggers the the reflection that if we can use technology to solve the ecological environment problems brought by traditional modernization, and if possible, how to solve problems by technology accordingly. Ecological modernization theory has proposed its unique perspectives. From 1960s to 1970s, environment crisis made us think about the technology for another time, about how to use technology to solve the ecological environment problems brought by traditional modernization, and to disconnect modernization and ecological environment so that we can achieve win-win between economy and environment. Ecological modernization theory is no doubt a persuasive theory.The core opinion of ecological modernization theory is the win-win between economy and environment. It brings forward many propositions. But the opinion that goes through its different development stages is the emphasis on technology. It clearly stresses technological innovation, and employs technology to improve ecological environment to realize the sustainable development of the society. Ecological modernization theory stresses that technology cannot solve all problems. However, if there is no radical technological structure reform, we will have no achievement in other fields. It can be seen that the technological view in ecological modernization theory is a kind of technological optimism. Technology is the core power to make the green reform. Industrial innovation stimulated by economic and market incentives will promote environment protection. Technology involves modernization elements and ecological connotation. It can realize the harmonious development between human beings and nature. The author hopes that this paper can offer reference for China’s ecological cultural construction.
