In this paper, we explore Talc deposit in Hongshi Town as the research subject in the light of the mining induced depletion of water resources, surface water and groundwater pollution problem and ecological destruction of vegetation. We mainly analyze the generation mechanism of environmental problems, the current situation of water environment and ecological environmental problems, the change trend of mining environmental issues. Then we go on to develop the corresponding environmental monitoring and management scheme combined with present situation and forecast evaluation results of water environment and the ecological environment problems, and obtain the following main results.1. The evaluation method of single water quality parameter is used to evaluate the current water environment. The evaluation of surface-water and groundwater environment in the study area is carried out by using the standard index method. Surface water is mainly 0.5 km southwest from mine area which is a perennial mountain stream. We place two monitoring sections for water quality monitoring respectively in mining area, one is five hundred meters upstream and another five hundred meters downstream. The evaluation results show that the surface water quality indexes can meet the requirement of the “surface water environment quality standard’’(GB3838-2002) class II water standards. A monitoring point for detecting groundwater is mainly set up in the project area, and evaluation results show that the regional groundwater monitoring indicators are in line with the "groundwater quality standards"(GB/T14848-93) type III. They can be applied to drinking water, industrial and agricultural production water.2. The water environment of the study area is predicted and analyzed. Construction-period sewage are mainly from the surface runoff in rainy season, construction sewage and construction workers living sewage. Construction sewage is including the mud water produced by rotary hole, flushing water and the cooling water produced by machinery and equipment operation. The construction-period sewage can be recovered to water the streets to lay the dust. Little impact is on the surrounding environment.3. The ecological environment of the research area is forecasted and analyzed. The impacts of mine construction on the ecological environment are mainly manifested in the destruction of vegetation, land use, animal distribution, soil erosion, and so on. Relative to the project location of the ecological environment, the project construction scope is small, and the impact on the regional ecological environment is small. In addition, after the end of the construction it needs to gradually plant and make an environmental comprehensive renovation on both sides of the road and mine grounds. The noise produced by the construction machinery and human activities will affect the activities of the wild animals in the construction area and the habitat of wild animals. Wild animals in the area are few. The wild animals in the area are common, such as birds, rodents and insects. Therefore, in the project construction period, the behavior of the wild animals in the region does not change. In view of the above questions formulated, the plans for protection and for recently, medium and long-term suggestions after stopping mine exploration are given. The land reclamation project and soil-water conservation, monitoring, control schemes are designed for mining industry square, abandoned wellhead, temporary stacking yard, waste rock pile and mines roads respectively.
