Under the stimulus of demand and good policies, Wencheng reservoir pig breeding industry got rapid development. However, Untreated-pig waste discharged directly into farmland near the reservoir causing serious environmental pollution. In order to effectively deal with the pollution caused by blinding expansion, we use questionnaires survey to obtain first-hand information on pig-waste pollution solutions. Through in-depth analysis of the serious pollution caused by pig breeding industry, it can provide the basis for effective countermeasures.The rapid development of pig breeding industry has brought considerable economic benefits. At the same time, It caused serious pollution to the environment in the reservoir area. Until the end of 2012, Wencheng reservoir excess nitrogen is 6119 T, Organic pollution seriously overweight, water quality in the reservoir area long been inferior V class.The reason of Pig farming causes serious pollution in Wencheng reservoir area as follows:1. Lack of pig-breeding related laws and regulations and environmental protection consciousness.2. Lack of planning and serious irregularities.3. Unbalanced industrial structure and blinding expansion.4. Imperfect education training system.In view of the present situation of pig breeding industry pollution, we proposed the following suggestions:1. Scientific pig-farming management and improve the pig farming related laws and regulations.2. Strengthening local government and pig farmers’ awareness of environmental protection 3. Formulates the reasonable live pig cultivation plan and put an end to the illegal pig-breeding.4. Optimize the industrial structure and reasonable pig cultivation quantity.5. To improve the education and training system of pig breeding. In conclusion, suggestions can greatly alleviate the pollution in Wencheng reservoir area.
