The purification efficiency of sewage treatment indoor and the purification efficiency of rural life sewage treatment outdoor were studied by the four pool purification system combinated with different substrate and plant in this paper. The main result were as follows:(1) The domestication test of plants. Under static conditions indoor, the plants such as Juncus effusus, Eichhornia crassipes, Phragmites Australis, Acorus calamus, Canna generalis, Typha Orientalis, Pontederia cordata, Scirpus validus, Oenanthe javanica, Thalia dealbata were chosen to determine survial rates, brown rate, growth, and Juncus effusus, Phragmites Australis, Typha orientalis, Acorus calamus, Scirpus validus were chosen for artificial wetland plants.(2) The comparison of the purification efficiency of sewage treatment by 18 kinds of different artificial wetland system combinated with different substrate and plant in the case of intermittent water indoor.The results show:the removal rate of TN, TP, COD were respectively 90.76%,84.75%,90.64% by the artificial wetland combinated with Phragmites Australis and FWJ matrix(Volume 1:1 anthracite uniformly mixed with fly ash).on the 7th day. The purification efficiency of sewage treatment of the artificial wetland system was better than other seventeen kinds of artificial wetland.(3) The comparison of the purification efficiency of sewage treatment by FWJ system (the four pool purification system combinated with Phragmites Australis and FWJ matrix(Volume 1:1 anthracite uniformly mixed with fly ash) and STJL system (the four pool purification system combinated with Phragmites Australis and traditional matrix (volume 1:1 sand mixture). The results show:the removal rate of TN, TP, COD by FWJL system were respectively 88.84%,89.86%,89.24% and the removal rate of TN, TP, COD by STJL system were respectively 52.91%,37.15%,45.94% on the 7th day. The removal rate of TN, TP, COD by the FWJL system was better than by STJL system.(4) The comparison of the purification efficiency of rural sewage treatment by FWJ system and STJL system in the case of water flow.The average removal rate of TN, TP, COD by FWJL system were respectively 69.77%,84.01%,73.28%; The average removal rate of TN,TP,COD by the STJL system were respectively 38.97%,32.01%,40.75%.
