HR Company is the domestic forging industry’s rising star; it mainly manufactures the crankshaft and con-rod forgings of cars, trucks and marine engine. In order to respond to the market and the national energy saving requirements, HR Company’s small forgings are mainly the cracking con-rods which produced by the material of non quenching and tempering steel. The cracking con-rod has the advantages of high technology content, low energy consumption, high production efficiency and high profits. Therefore, it determines that it must have higher requirements on the level of technology, the capabilities of process and quality control and the comprehensive ability. The cracking con-rod produced by the HR Company still keeps a certain distance compared with foreign counterparts, so we need to strengthen research and improve quality control ability of the cracking con-rod.Firstly, this paper analyzed the quality situation and problem of the cracking con-rod produced by the HR Company, and applied the latest QC theory to conduct the quality control research of the cracking con-rod forging in terms of the actual existence problems of quality stability and reject rate. Secondly, this paper flexible applied 5M1E analysis, causality diagram, Pareto diagram and other methods to quality problems identified of cracking con-rod and research and analysis of impact factors, and verified by experiment after mastering the QC theory and method. It determined the impact factors and proposed the optimization plan for quality control of the cracking con-rod. Then adopted the quality control point and process flow, used the tools of SPC, PDCA to put the optimization program implementation and guide the actual production, and to realize the purposes of quality control research. This not only can increase the ontology quality and production efficiency of cracking con-rod, but also reduce production costs and the cost of rejects. Finally, the effect of the implementation of the quality control of cracking con-rod is summarized.The research of this article have a good reference value and meaning on quality improvement of domestic forging companies. Through the QC theory and method used in enterprise production, it not only can enhance the product quality and technical level of forging enterprises, improve market competitiveness and economic efficiency, but also can promote enterprise managers recognize the enormous function in quality management applied to the actual production, and cause the enterprise attention. Therefore, it promoted the continuous development of quality management in the theoretical research and practical application, and had a significantly positive influence on enterprise and social development.
