As a new technology, virtual prototype has solved the problem that it costs lots time and money in a new product’s design. There is little reference experience to use, so it leads to a longer time to modify the design. With virtual prototype technology to create a new product, the design-checking-optimizing-checking process can be realized by computer, so the result comes out whether the design is reasonable. This paper focused on the stability of a popular recreation rotary facility-rotary ship. Adams software is adapted in this research, and a virtual prototype is designed for the simulation to analyze the ship’s stability, which provides people a reference to build a real proto.Firstly, Pro/E software is used to design the model. Put it into Adams software and add constraints and motions, which bring proper acceleration and velocity, according to the quality of entertainment. Then all conditions in operation are simulated by Adams software, for example, in wind situation, in unbalance loading, and the different bases, all of those will affect the stability of the ship. At the same time, a manner to judge whether the stability collapse is established, with which the stability in all kinds of situation are continent to analyze.Design Evaluation Tools are also used to built a parameterized base, and then analytical statements are established in details, by which the sensitivity of stability to each designed value are obtained.Virtual prototype technology is not common in recreation facility research. This paper uses virtual prototype technology to study recreation rotary facility, and provides a reference to other researches. Hope there will be more and more common virtual prototype technology is used in recreation facility research.
