| As the product of human practical activity, clothing is not only the carrier of material progress and spiritual civilization, but also the aesthetic object that helps people realize their self reflection. With high aesthetic research value, clothing could reflect people’s creative power and aesthetic strength directly and indirectly.In the process of long-term clothing research, many experts and scholars have carried on comprehensive studies from the aspects of costume history, fashion culture, and comparison between Chinese and western culture, all these studies help to lay a solid foundation for the clothing research in the perspective of aesthetics.This paper starts with three main parts. In the first part, the sample statistics and set pair analysis methods are employed to make a comparative study on the samples of Chinese and western court and bigwig women’s dress in the similar period, then try to analyze the similarity and difference of aesthetic form produced by the physical concepts reflected by Chinese and western dress codes. In the second part, chart analysis method is utilized to analyze the development trend of aesthetic form of Chinese and western women’s dress based on physical concept, so as to verify the relevant rules of fashion aesthetics and study the forming reasons of the rules. In the third part, by virtue of questionnaire method, the paper compares the trend aesthetics of Chinese and western women’s dress from the respects of cross-culture and cross-age.The development trend of aesthetic form of Chinese and western women’s dress based on physical concept turns out to be in harmony with the development of human civilization and the cultures of different nations. This law of development is formed because the aesthet ics of women’s dress has a rich background meaning of strengthening the interpersonal attraction, highlighting the social role, expressing symbolic significance and affecting the cultural value. The trend comparison of the fashion aesthetics not only reflects the aesthetic difference between different cultures, but also the change of aesthetics in different time of the same culture.To carry forward the traditional costume culture of Chinese nation and set up the mainstream aesthetic values, people need to get the world know more about the charm of Chinese traditional costume aesthetic, and promote the new generation Chinese clothing aesthetics with characteristics of a new era and the outstanding traditional style. |
