The large-scale usingoffossil fuelsdramatic increase ingreenhouse gas emissions, threatening the living environment of mankind increasly.After the World Climate Conference held in Copenhagenmany countries and organizations set out to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and publish some relvant act and laws which is conducive to reducing the carbon dioxide emission.Chinese government has made a commitment that unit of gross domestic product of carbon dioxide emissions will be cut 40% ~ 45% percentcompared with 2005 by 2020.IPCC put emphasis on the technology of carbon dioxide capture and storage,recommending it as anuseful method to resolve the problem of greenhouse effect.As the method has been completing and varifingby many researchers, some parts of fields has achieved the mature stage.This dissertation is conducted on the foundment of evaluation of carbon dioxide geological storage potentical in degree D in Tarim basin,succeeding it and going further.According to the result of the previous investigation, the TaZhong area in tarim basin is taken as the study area.On the premise of widely collecting the related geological data of Tazhong, including hydrology geology,regional geological, oil and gas geology,tectonicgeology, and stratigraphic lithology and physical parameter etc, Tazong 4 trap, Tazhong 10 trap and Tazhong 16 trap is selected as the representative area and their capability of carbon dioxide is been calculated and evaluated.The conclusions are as follows:Tazhong strataretainfulldiscoveringmultiplelayerstrap, but the main commercial oilandburial depthmostly over3500 mintheCarboniferousandOrdovician.Carboniferousclastic reservoirwasrelatively goodandsuitable for CO2 storagereservoir.Using relative formula to calculate the storage potential in Tazhong 4 trap, Tazhong 10 trap and Tazhong 16 trap, to 37.42×106t,4.29×106t and 56×106t respectively.Thegas reservoirpotentialand the oilreservoirspotential are as follows: Tazhong 4trapoil reservoir26.35× 106 t,gas reservoirs11.07× 106t; Tazhong10trapsreservoir4.02×106t, gas reservoirof0.27× 106 tand Tazhong16trapsoilreservio of8.11×106t,gas reservoir0.45×106t.Basing on grade D evaluation index system,the grade C for CO2 geological storage potential evaluation index system has been proposaled, namely genernal carbon geological conditions of dioxide geological storage potential, the degree of research and resources, crustal stability,geothermal geological conditions, socio-economic suitability, control potential evaluation and reservoir and cap evaluation.There are a reasonable weight number for each of these indexs.Applying this index stystem in the selcted traps for evaluation, and suitable assessment figure of Tazhong 4, Tazhong 10 and Tazhong 16 traps has been depicted. Tazhong 10 trap is more appropriate for the trap, the Tazhong 4and the Tazhong 16 is generally suitable traps.
