In the land oil drilling, the drilling tools up and down the rig are still mainly manual, low degree of automation, big labor intensity, high cost, high probability of accident. In order to improve the automation degree of land rig, meet the needs of safety and efficiency, it is necessary to design a land rig with automatic catwalk.Firstly, paper has carried on the detailed summary for the development and research situation of catwalk, systematically understand the catwalk, various forms of structure, determines the overall design scheme of catwalk, main parameters and technical route; Secondly,using AutoCAD software, draw the catwalk main components of two-dimensional engineering graphics, and analyzes its calculation, mainly including the stress analysis of wire rope hoisting, the calculation of hydraulic motor and transport car, chain drive system, and the force analysis of main parts, arm bracket, migration, pipe rack, sliding bearing, verified the rationality of structure design; Then, by using Autodesk Inventor software, three-dimensional model of catwalk is established, and by using the ANSYS Workbench, finite element analysis of the key positions is carried out, the results prove that the key components meet the strength requirements; Finally, simplify the model, establish the virtual prototype of catwalk by the ADAMS, analyze its movement process, and get the trajectory of main components, the-change-curves of velocity and acceleration, and provides the movement characteristics of catwalk.
