China has a long-run history of natural disasters, almost 90% of it occurs in the western region, the ecological vulnerability dominated by seismic geological disasters repeated and coupled with some natural or man-made factors, the western region become more vulnerable and influenced by natural disasters of harmonious development of the local economy and society. Recent studies has focused on its social effects, this paper capture the "ecologically vulnerable disaster-prone" feature, building a chain mechanism of natural disasters risk to clarify the transmission mechanism of the disaster in the western region of the economic society, discusses it impact of economic growth, and analysis the transmission mechanism of natural disasters from the material level, the system level and organizational level of cultural awareness, and empirical analysis the natural disasters’ mechanism of economic growth, population migration, income inequality and social conflict. We found that both of the rapid economic growth and the losses caused by natural disasters have increased, the urbanization and improvement of traffic facilities help to combat the negative impact of disasters, and disasters leads the poor and ethnic into a "poverty trap", increased social conflict. The national quality and demographic factors also affect the conflicts, and increase the investment of public infrastructure and disaster prevention and mitigation could reduce conflict. Finally, natural disasters tend to increase the degree of social concern or trust and to promote social cohesion, the community highly concerned about the ethnic factor and its livelihood. We propose that it is beneficial to the "creative destruction" effect by strengthening the construction of the western regions of public infrastructure, capital investment and technical input. While developing the economy, it should also reconstruct the ecosystem after disaster, improve the living environment of individual residents. Reconstruct the community and repair its functions of social management, and improved to the capacity of disaster reduction in community.
