Study On The Relationship Between The Water Environment Changes And The Urban Development Of Xuzhou City In Historical Period

There is not only a mutual promotion between the city and the water, but also mutual checks and balances between them. As a complex system of nature and humanity, the change of water environment will cause the adjustment of the city. This paper is mainly focuses on the dynamic relationship between the change of water environmental in Xuzhou and the city development in the historical period, reveals the root causes of the decline of Xuzhou and provides some historical reference for the flourish of Xuzhou as a new era of regional central city of Xuzhou construction.Based on the full study of the relevant literature. I used human activity as the main feature to elaborate water environment and its various function, such water resources, transportation capabilities, military defense capabilities, functionality and ecological tourism aesthetic function etc., meanwhile, discusses the direct or indirect impacts it has on urban development through the urban population, water environment scale, spatial patterns, urban industrial, urban infrastructure construction, and other aspects of people’s living standards. Then, use the 6 district, Xuzhou City(Tongshan District, Quanshan District, Yunlong District, Gulou District, Jiuli District, Jiawang District), County Pei, County Pizhou as the entry point, the center theory, treat theory of man-land relationship, urban form theory, theory-based eco-city as bases, connect with GIS, CORELDRAW and other modern technology softwares, after reading a large number of relevant historical data several and on-site research, confirmation, I reproduce the distribution and evolution of Xuzhou Yishusi river, the history of the Yellow River and the Grand Canal water system, point out its dynamic influence on the rise and fall of the city of Xuzhou, and reveal major urban development law changes. Finally, I propose some effective countermeasures for the sustainable development of water environment in the aim of sustainable development objectives of the whole Xuzhou City.I draw up the following main conclusions through my study:(1)in the old times, for the special location of Xuzhou where Yellow River, Yi-Shu-Si and other rivers flows through, there is abundant water resources for agricultural irrigation and thus promote early development of the agricultural economy in Xuzhou, it has prosperous historical period; at the same time, plenty of water provides a lot of water for the smelting industry; the slow river also greatly increase the development of the transport sector.(2) During the migration of yellow from north to south, due to natural reasons and the human factors, flood often happened in Xuzhou and the city ’s economy experienced a boom and bust.(3)The concause of the decline of Xuzhou urban development was the change of reliance on water transportation, when the Yellow resettle, the sea transportation thrives, silted canals, railroads develops, all these facts change of the favorable location of the city and the city declined.
