Gear is an important manufacturing base element. With the continuous development and improvement of C hina’s manufacturing industry level, the requirement on the efficiency, cost and quality of the gear processing is becoming higher, besides the increasing demand for gear. Gear manufacturing companies in expanding gear type and production; at the same time, they pay more attention to improving the quality of gear manufacturing.The quality of gear processing mainly relies on the manual measurement and experience of workers in situ, which is low efficiency and poor reliability. The urgent problems to be solved are how to extract the quality data of production field with high speed and efficiency, and how to monitor the whole process with advanced method for quality control. To meet the need of the national science and technology main project, ―network management and intelligent monitoring system of gear automatic production line‖(Number: 2011ZX04001-041-06), this paper researches the methods for acquiring and monitoring the quality information in gear manufacturing process. The main research contents are as follow:It researches the method for acquiring quality data in the manufacturing process of gear hobbing machining. With the features of gear manufacture, it proposes a method suitable for the quick extraction of quality data in gear manufacturing field, applying value M to explain the complicated quality coefficient, and adopting wireless gear micrometer to testing the process and conveying the data.It researches the plan for online quality information monitoring in the manufacturing process of gear machine tools. The online monitoring is realized, through the technology of real- time data acquisition and dynamic image display, SPC quality control technology, abnormal pattern recognition technology, and industrial mobile phone message alerting technology.It researches a multiple information fusion based method for tool change decision in gear manufacturing process. This method fuses various information, such as work piece quality, power consumption, and tool life etc., to estimate the status of tools, assist in the decision making for changing tools, and decrease tool waste with guarantee of quality.Based on the achievements above, a system structure monitoring the quality information in gear manufacturing process is established, and a system applying to extracting and monitoring the quality information in gear manufacturing process is developed. The system is developed based on platform N ET and platform SQ L Server 2005. It adopts C /S structure to arrange, and realizes the information integration and quality information monitoring in each manufacturing process of gear machine tools. The system has performed well in the practical production after applied by one gear manufacture enterprise.
