Research On Aesthetic Feature Of Yao Female’s Headwear In Jianghua

The Yao nationality spreads its branches in Hunan and owns various kinds of costume. In all kinds of Yao costume, the most splendid part belongs to their headwear, represented by the female headwear, which is blessed with rather high aesthetic value and abundant cultural connotation. Jianghua Yao Autonomous County in Hunan assembles the largest number of Yao nationality in China. This thesis is to study the headwear of the Yao female in Jianghua.In recent years, the traditional culture of national minorities has been given growing attention and a great deal of research on traditional female headwear of minorities is undergoing, which benefits the protection of minorities’traditional culture. On the basis of field investigation and data collection, the author has done the classification of headwear of Jianghua Yao Female, and analyzed its background of birth, aesthetic feature and cultural connotation. With the field investigation into traditional female headwear in Yao nationality of Jianghua as the main method ans breakthrough point, looking at the source of hearwear, its aesthetic features and cultural connotation, and its application value in the current society, this thesis has fully demonstrated the aesthetic features and application value of Yao female’s headwear. The investigation is concentrated in the following areas such as Tuojiang, Taoxu, Xiangjiang, Beijiang, Wujiang, etc.In such an era of diversified culture and fast-growing technology, it’ important to inherit and develop the fine and excellent traditional culture. However, this inheritance and development should keep up with the times, and culture value should be given full play in the real life. This thesis studies several aspects of Yao female’s headwear in Jianghua such as the design, color, pattern, model, technology, etc. and draws out the elements of traditional ethnic feature. While there are examples of these elements applied in modern design and painting creation, the author has analyzed some of these examples and summarized experience, advocating innovative application, so that the traditional culture could be carried forward, meanwhile the charm of ethnic culture could be shown in a modern fashion, and the traditional culture could be inherited forever in a brand-new manner.
