Iron and steel industry is traditional industry with high energy consumption, high pollution and high logistics, which needs to transport a large amount of goods and materials during the productive process, there are normally two problems in this process:(1) The over speed of locomotive will cause the security problem.(2) The long time idling will cause the fuel consumption problem. Currently, the offline acquisition method is the main method to solve these problems, which is lack of real time performance. Due to the existing problems of locomotives in the transportation department of domestic large-scale iron and steel metallurgy enterprise, such as bad real time performance of offline acquisition, expensive maintenance cost and difficult performance evaluation, an online acquisition and monitoring system of locomotive comprehensive information is designed based on 3G platform. The status information of locomotives can be collected, transmitted, received and processed by the system to realize the reasonable determination of maintenance time point, the assisted observation of risk alarm and the performance evaluation of driver. Firstly, the main methods of velocity measurement are analyzed, and the monitoring scheme is determined. According to the working environment of locomotive working and design requirements, the function modules are selected, and the design scheme is divided into hardware design and software design. Finally, the debug and operation are carried out in the locomotive. The practice results indicate that the operation security of the locomotive is improved and the transportation cost is reduced, the performance management of drivers is enhanced and the productive efficiency is increased.
