| With the intense competition among the nations and the endless pursuit of material wealth footstep, the ecological crisis has quietly already become an insuperable barrier to the human progress. What kind of existence crisis that human are facing? What caused the crisis? And, how to get rid of the crisis? So many international organizations, groups and individuals have been nagged by searching the answers for these questions. On the way of seeking the fundamental cause of the ecological crisis and the solutions, the ecological Marxism researcher, John Bellamy Foster, a professor at the university of Oregon has become the most outstanding representative, he not only from the angle of integrating theory with practice, revealed the root reason of ecology crisis which is the infinite self-aggrandizement value system of capitalism, but also explored the solution method which is the profound society’s reform. Whether the ecological criticism of the capitalism or the reaching for the ecological crisis solution, Foster’s ecological crisis theory has very important implications for the issues of environment and development.The first chapter of this paper summarized the background of the proposed problem, the writing purpose and significance, status of both home and abroad, research methods and innovation points. The author introduced the background of the Foster’s theory, not only introduced the realistic background of ecology, politics, economy, etc., and further analyzed its theoretical background from different perspectives for comparative analysis in chapter two. In chapter three the author elaborated the content of the Foster’s ecological crisis theory, according to the chronological order by the changing of dynamic ideology, using the integration of logic and history method to analyze his theory content which is the basis for constructing the theory, the origin and the solutions for the present ecological crisis, especially selective analysis the part of the scientific and technological viewpoints contained in his theory. Heretofore, most domestic and international essays and works are focusing on his mining the Marx’s ecological thoughts and his criticism on capitalism, few people especially give attentions to his outlook on science and technology and his new works resent years. Last chapter is the comments on his ecological crisis theory, discussed his theoretical contribution and practical enlightenment, and pointed out his theoretic limitations. |
