The paper reported the synthesis of a novel oxetane compound 3-Ethyl-3-allyloxymethyl oxetane, and the study of its properties in radical, cationic and hybrid-type UV-curable system with 3-ethyl-3-allyloxymethyl oxetane as the reactive diluent. The details of research are as follows:Firstly, 3-Ethyl-3-allyloxymethyl oxetane was synthesized by utilizing 3-Ethyl-3-hydroxymethyl oxetane(EHO) and allyl bromide as raw materials, tetrabutylammonium bromide as phase transfer catalyst, together with the aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide. The effects of feed ratio of the raw materials, amount of catalyst, reaction temperature and reaction time on the yield were researched, and the best reaction conditions were as follows: n(EHO):n(allyl bromide)=1:1.4, m(EHO):m(tetrabutylammonium bromide)=23.2:1, the reaction temperature was 0℃, the reaction time was 24 h.Secondly, the novel reactive monomer was introduced in the cationic-type UV-curable materials. The results showed that: the novel reactive monomer has a good effect on diluting epoxy, and the best mass fraction of the photoinitiator was 5%; when m(epoxy resin):m(the new reactive monomer)=4:1, cured-material exhibits good mechanical properties, thermal properties, flexibility, adhesion, water resistance and acid resistance.Thirdly, the novel reactive monomer was introduced in the radical-type UV-curable materials. The results revealed that: The preferred charge ratio of photoinitiator was 4%, and when the mass fraction of the new reactive diluent was 20%, cured-materials exhibit better flexibility, mechanical properties than those when the epoxy acrylate is used alone. Besides, the cured-materials have good adhesion and pendulum hardness.Fourthly, the novel reactive monomer was introduced in the hybrid-type UV-curable materials. The effects of the selection and the amount of photoinitiator on curing conversion were studied, and the results demonstrated that: the best photoinitiator was the one compounded with UV-6976 and UV-1173 by 1:1, and the preferred charge ratio was 7%. The effects of the input of the novel reactive monomer, epoxy resin and epoxy acrylate upon the properties of cured-materials were investigated, the results showed that: when the mass fraction of the new reactive diluent was 20%, the mass ratio of the epoxy resin with epoxy acrylic acid ester was 1:1 in prepolymer, cured-materials perform better in thermal properties and mechanical properties. Besides, the cured-materials have good adhesion and pendulum hardness. Meanwhile, under the same conditions, the overall performance of the hybrid-type curable-material is better than radical and cationic type curing material.
