This paper is in order to solve the problem of bearing performance and high cost of the hypobaric storage equipment.In this experiment, taking the polyethylene (PE) plate as bearing and airtight materials for subhypobaric storage box and using the finite element analysis software to choose the best structure. In this experiment, taking thick 15 millimeter PE plate as the bearing materials, the structure of strengthening rib is analyzed. The result showed that the vertical structure is the optimum choice, compare to the others. The displacement of PE plate is 9mm and the stress is 7.169MPa when it bears the pressure of 0.04MPa. Another result showed that 10mm PE plate will engender 1.6488cm displacement and 13.442MPa pressure when it bears the pressure of 0.04MPa. So 10mm is the best thick. In the installing of the door, silica gel foaming bar is used as the airtight material. The air-tightness of the subhypobaric storage box is that the vacuum degrees get down from 0.04MPa to 0.02MPa in 24h. In the experiment of the storage effect of the box, taking the tomato as material, some indexes are determined. The results showed that, compare to the ordinary pressure storage, subhypobaric storage could delay the lowing of hardness, SSC and content of TA and Vc, and the rising of relatively conductivity, content of MDA and WSP under the normal temperature(18±2℃). It could also delay the time of respiration peak for 6 days, and reduce the value of the peak from 65.7 mg CO2/h·kg FW to 59.8 mg CO2/h·kg FW. Subhypobaric storage could also inhibit ethylene release of tomato.
