Benzoyl chloride, paraphthaloyl chloride, trimesoyl chloride were synthesised by complexing benzoic acid, terephthalic acid, trimesic acid with thionyl chloride with dimethyl formamide(DMF) as catalyst. 2-(benzoyloxy)acetic acid, terephthaloyl-di-glycollic acid, trimesoyl-ti-glycollic acid were prepared by adding the glycollic acid with Benzoyl chloride, phthaloyl chloride, trimesoyl chloride in toluene and paraxylene respectively. The FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectures showed that the compounds were synthesised successfully.Two novel coordination polymers [TbL.1.5H2 O, EuL.H2O],( Tb=Terbium, Eu= Europium, L=C6H5COOCH2COO-) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, coordination titration analysis, FT-IR(infrared spectroscopy), TG-DTG( thermogravimetry- derivative thermogravimetric analysis), fluorescent spectra. The FT-IR status showed that the ester bond and carboxy group were coordinated to the rare earth ions. TG-DTG curves showed the two new complexes were stable at room tempreature, when heated, hydrated complexes firstly losed crystallization water and then transformed to the anhydrous complexes. Secondly the ligand was removed by three stages. Under the ultraviolet light excitation, the fluorescent properties of [TbL.1.5H2O] exhibited the strong characteristic green light of Tb3+, 5D4→7F6, 5D4→7F5, 5D4→7F4和5D4→7F3 energy transition. EuL.H2 O exhibited characteristic red light of Eu3+, 5D0→7F0, 5D0→7F1, 5D0→7F2 和5D0→7F4 energy transition.One fluorescent materials were compounded with p-methoxybenzoic(HL??), 1,10-phenanthroline(phen), TbCl3.6H20, which was mixed with the LLDPE in different dosages(1‰, 2.5‰,5‰, 7.5‰, 10‰(wt) to prepare the fluorescent membranes by a twin-screw extruder and blow molding method. The composition, structure, properties of the fluorescent materials and the membranes were detected by FTIR, DSC, TG, flourescence spectra. The results showed t fluorescent materials had a specific composition and structure, Tb(L??3.phen).H2 O, melting point is 182.3 ℃, Beginning decomposition temperature is 241 ℃, characteristic fluorescence spectra is 488, 543, 585, 620 nm. The thermal properties of LLDPE were not influenced with adding the light conversation agent, Tb(L??3.phen).H2 O.
