Coordination polymers, especially the multifunctional materials, have attract moreand more interests because of their intriguing structures and functional properties such asgas storage, catalysis, magnetism, conductor and luminescent materials.In this dissertation,5-hydroxynicotinic acid is choosed as our major ligand and wegot6compounds by using it with different metal ions under hydrothermal condition. Wefound that several factors influencing the structures, such as the coordination modes ofmetal ions, the reaction conditions, and the properties of organic ligands. Furthermore,fluorescent properties have been studied. The main contents are summarized as below:1. Two compounds,[Ni(C6H4NO3)2(C3H10N2)(H2O)2]1and[Zn(5-hydroxynicotinate)22H2O]n2were obtained by the solvothermal (hydrothermal)reaction of5-hnta, Ni2+/Zn2+and1,3-propanediamine. Different from compound1, inwhich the1,3-propanediamine is coordinated to the Ni2+ion, the compound2is a2D gridnetwork linked by5-hydroxynicotinato groups and there is no1,3-propanediamine in it.The photoluminencence measurement showed that their fluorescence emission intensity ishigher than the ligand itself.2. Two compounds,{[Ln(3-H-5-hydroxynicotinato)(ox)1.5(H2O)]·H2O}n(Ln=Sm(3), Tb(4)), were obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of5-hnta, Sm3+/Tb(3+and(NH4)2C2O4·H2O.3and4are isostructural compounds which present a brick-well-liked2D network generated by both metal ions and oxalate groups at a side-by-side way. TheH-bonds and the π-π stack between the pyridine rings extend the2D gifts into a3Dsupermolecular network. The photoluminencence measurement showed that thecompound4is a strong green emitter.3. Two compounds,[Ln2(C2O4)3(H2O)6·4H2O]n(Ln=Nd(5), Pr(6)), were obtainedby the hydrothermal reaction of5-hnta, Nd3+/Pr3+and Zinc nitrate. The center metal ion in 5is linked by three oxalate groups fo rmi ng a honeycomb2D network. The high hydrationrate in the structure makes the compound luminescent inefficient.
