Simulation methods,used to simulate and calculate PDC bit cutting parameters, is an important technique for drills customized design.This paper carry out a study of PDC bit drilling simulation method which is based on the redevelopment of UG software to improve the efficiency and accuracy of PDC bit drilling simulation,implement visual effect and realize a seamless connection with3D design system of drill bit.This paper, based on PDC drill geometry, kinematics and the theory of effect of mechanical, is utilizing parametric modeling and sweep function of UG software to build simulation model and trajectory model of the PDC bits cutting; Using the Boolean operation of UG software could simulated cutting process and build computational models of cutting parameters which are difficult to achieve in previous simulation method;Therefore, the PDC bit drilling simulation system software was built which is based upon the redevelopment of UG software.According to PDC drill bit composite motion and directed motion in coupled driven drilling technology, I modify the kinematics model of the PDC drill bit drilling simulation in ideal condition to build trajectory model of the PDC bits cutting which is based on "creating multiple-section body".Therefore, the model could apply to the simulation of special drilling condition;The model should develop intersecting lines calculation function in the modeling of UG software.According to drilling hard inter-layer in complicated conditions, I develop the simulation model of drilling across the inter-layer.The simulation model can analyze the relationship of the metabolic amount of each cutting tooth cutting and cutting force when drilling the lower strata in hard and soft staggered formation.This paper uses the modularization design method.The PDC bit drilling simulation system software consists of several parts:input module,simulation module,analysis module,output module.The user could select the combination of modules according to practical needs and should abandon the unnecessary modules to improve the efficiency and flexibility of using software.The result indicates that the results of computational models of cutting parameters in this paper is as the same trend as the calculation results of numerical simulation method, which is has higher accuracy.Compared with the result of finite element analysis,the two simulation methods have the same trend.However,the computational models of cutting parameters in this paper is more efficient.The result indicates that the PDC bit drilling simulation system software can provide a new method for PDC bit drilling simulation, which is improve the efficiency of rapid customization of PDC bit.
