Study On The Reusable Design For The Remaining Material Of Annatto

Annatto is very precious as a kind of material. The import and export of seven kinds of annatto were limited since the revision of 《 the convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora》,the price of annatto increased shapely. However, the remaining material of annatto is always neglected when annatto creating wealth as material of furniture.The paper researches the remaining material of annatto when manufacturing annatto furniture, and hope to make the remaining material producing much more value through the methods of design.This paper collects a lot of information through questionnaire survey, short-term investigation, long-term practice, design and production. At the same time, the author combs material and obtains reliable data through searching literatures, reading dates, scientific analysis and so on. On this basis, the paper takes a series of developing practices for the recycle of annatto material.The paper summarizes as follows:(1) The manufacturing enterprises of annatto furniture always produce a large number of remaining material of annatto. The general method is selling the remaining material of annatto for a kind of fuel. Few companies will reuse the remaining material of annatto to craft small articles.(2) The paper concludes various forms of the remaining material of annatto, and classifies them according to the product design.(3) The paper combs the methods of dealing with the remaining material of annatto for recycling. It mainly discusses six types of the remaining material of annatto:cracking material, hollow material, scarring, sheet, square stock and abnormal material.(4) The design principles are “capitalizing on the trend” and “making good for deficiency”. The paper analysis and summaries the development direction and methods of the remaining material of annatto part with design examples.
