With the rapid development of electronic technology, the scale and the clock speed of digital systems is increasing constantly, the power integrity (PI), signal integrity (SI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems have become increasingly prominen-t. About the printed circuit board (PCB) design, how to eliminate the noise of power and take into account about SI and EMC simultaneously is an important topic. The simultane-ous switching noise (SSN) is a kind of noise of power, it will destroy the voltage stability of power/ground plane, which caused a huge impact on PCB digital system. There are many traditional methods of simultaneous switching noise suppression, such as increas-ing decoupling capacitor, also increasing termination resistor and applying electromag-netic band gap structure between the power ground plane, however this can not meet the increasingly strict requirements of electronic technology. Metamaterials are artificial composite electromagnetic material with extraordinary electromagnetic characteristics. The complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) in the electric resonance case, can show a good electromagnetic band gap characteristics, and thus provide the high-speed circuit SSN inhibition with a new idea.This paper is mainly about the CSRR structure of metamaterials etched on the pow-er/ground plane in the circuit board by etching technology to achieve the simultaneous switching noise reduction according to the electromagnetic characteristics of CSRR. If etch complementary split ring resonator on the power/ground plane, it will destroy the power/ground plane structure, influence the quality of signal power/ground plane for the transmission line return path, and also affect the power/ground plane shielding character-istics. In addition, the edge radiation from the power/ground plane and electromagnetic interference on the circuit board from the outside world, are contents we have to study.In this paper, combines the structure of metamaterials with the finite element theory and analytical method, and uses HFSS based on finite element to model and computational-ly simulate the new method of reduction SSN. Firstly, according to the basic theory of knowledge and the results of computational simulation to analysis the effect of CSRR applied in the circuit board to decrease SSN, and then the research of power integrity completed. Secondly, based on the knowledge of signal integrity to model in HFSS and combined with the MATLAB to complete the development of signal integrity of CSR-R applied in the circuit board. Lastly, depended on the knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility, modeling in HFSS to complete the development of electromagnetic com-patibility for CSRR applied in the circuit board.
