Microstructure of three components is identified by using FTIR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and other analytical techniques. The outer layer of ETPI granular is high epoxy part with low content and high epoxy degree. Ring open reaction mainly occurred in high epoxy part. And the high epoxy part has little impact on ETPI performances. The middle layer of ETPI granular is moderate epoxy part with low by-products. By analyzing sequence of the moderate epoxy part, the possibility of DDD is highest. When epoxy degree is low, epoxy units are randomly distributon. While with increasing of epoxy degree, the content of epoxy long blocks increase. The inner layer of ETPI granular is unepoxidized part, which is TPI.The relationship between components and properties of ETPI is built-up. The effect of ETPI component on its properties is investigated. The higher of epoxy content, the lower of its epoxy degree. ETPI with higher epoxy content have uniform structure. Phase separation and crystalline of raw ETPI is weakening with increasing of epoxy content. The mechanical properties of ETPI with high epoxy content are showed just like elastomer rubber and the shore A hardness go down significantly. ETPI mixture with high epoxy content shows faster curing rate. The mechanical properties of ETPI vulcanizate changed regular with increasing of epoxy content. ETPI vulcanizate with high epoxy content has good wet skid resistance and can be used as tire tread for high performance tires. While for those ETPI with low epoxy content is suitable for damping materials because of its widen damping temperature.Synthesising process of ETPI with high epoxy degree is investigated. ETPI with 42.1% epoxy degree and 73.3% epoxy part can by synthesized using method 5#. ETPI with high epoxy degree shows excellent mechanical properties and the shore A hardness low to 20, which can be used as elastomer rubber. Only a signal narrow peak is found in ETPI with high epoxy degree. And with increasing of epoxy degree, wet skid resistance and rolling resistance of ETPI increase at same time.Synthesing process of ETPI using 50 L pot is investigated. ETPI synthesized by 50 L pot has good quality. And ETPI with higher epoxy degree (higher than 20%) can be synthesized. The relationship between epoxy degree and composition, mechanical properties of ETPI synthesized by 50 L pot shows same regular just like ETPI synthesized by vial experiment.Stortage performance of ETPI is investigated. ETPI can be effectively prevented from long-term storage aging (1 year) when adding 2% of antioxidant-2,6,4, antioxidant-RD, antioxidant-4020.
