Wettability of solid surfaces is an important property, which size is usually measured by contact angle. It usually controlled by the chemical composition of solid and the geometric structure of the surface. The study on the wettability starts from two parts usually. One is that construction micro/nano structure on the low surface energy material, the other is modified the surface with low energy materials. Because non-metallic inorganic materials is cheap and stable, it is used widely in the life and production. The study on the change of wettability will have bright sight on the cleaning and industrial separation.This paper mainly includes the following aspects. First of all, creating the uniform aperture of SiO2. Secondly, the connection functional groups to the sand core, glass, ceramics. The modified samples whose contact angle from 130° to 157° have been investigated, results show that materials modifided with perfluorinated octyl trichlorosilane exhibit the best hydrophobic effect, while that materials modifided with three-cross-linked propyl triethoxy silane exhibit the worst hydrophobic effect. In this paper, we have investigated the effect of the reaction time, reaction temperature, modification agent and solvent on the impact of invasive. The results show that the smaller size of sand sore, the better hydrophobic is. At the same time, the sand sore can bear higher water column. Thirdly, the preliminary application experiment of the modified sand sore and ceramic are carried on, which is divided into three parts. We put the invasive cores in the bottom of shoes, which is better to breathe freely as well as convenient to sports. If this kind of shoes are immersed in the rain for a long time, it also can not be wet. The modified sand core is applied to the liquid separation in the industrial. This experiment uesd five modified sand cores to separate ethanol solution ranging from 10﹪to70﹪concentrate. The modified ceramic posts on smoke lampblack machine. Through cooking meals everyday produces plenty of smoke, We find that a month later perfluorinated octyl trichlorosilane modified ceramic is the cleanest, and the octadecyl trichlorosilane modified ceramic is the second.
