Resently, there has been a great interest in developing photoelectric functional coordination complex through rational molecular design and synthesis in the field of coordination chemistry and material science. Nitrogen azole carboxylate ligands have been used as attractive building blocks for photoelectric functional coordination structures due to their super coordination ability and flexible coordinated type. In this paper, a series of coordination complexes with different structure have been successfully synthesized in the hydrothermal or solvothermal conditions by using different metal ions, nitrogen azole carboxylate ligands (3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylate, imidazole-4-carboxylate) as main ligands and 1,10-phenanthroline as the auxiliary ligand. The luminescence properties of zinc complexes have been studied and the relationship between structure and properties has been preliminary discussed.Firstly, a kind of new structure complexes with pyrazole carboxylate have been synthesized by 3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylate as the ligand, sulfate ions as bridging ligands, terbium and dysprosium oxide. The results show that 1 and 2 are isomorphism and composed of a rare earth oxygen anion surrounded by a cluster polymer of high symmetric cubic structure with three-dimensional network. This kind of new structure has not been reported to date.Secondly, two new coordination complexes with transition metal ions based on imidazole-4-carboxylate have been successfully assembled. The results showed that 3 is cobalt complex with zero dimensional structure and 4 is a zinc complex with two-dimensional layered network. In addition, complex 4 has good fluorescence performance. Finally, three new complexes with different structure have been synthesized by using two kinds of metal io\ns, nitrogen azole carboxylic acid as the main ligands (3,5-pyrazoledicarboxylate and imidazole-4-carboxylate) and 1,10-phenanthroline as the auxiliary ligand. The single crystal results showed that 5 and 7 are both nickel complexes with zero dimensional, and 6 is a zinc complex with one-dimensional chain structure with a good fluorescence performance, which can be used for selective detection of acetone.
