With the rapid development of economy, the water source in China is facing a serious problem. The shortage of water source at the same time is showing a more serious water quality problems. Drinking water source is facing a shortage of resources and deterioration of water quality. With the decreasing of groundwater resources, urban water supply system for surface water becomes more and more dependent. Some of the reservoir by the flood control, irrigation and gradually evolved into the city water supply. Drinking water source protection issue has attracted more and more attention. To do a good job in protecting water source is the primary condition to ensure drinking water safety and healthy life. To strengthen the protection of drinking water source mainly reflected in the following two aspects. On the one hand, with the rising economic level of Taian, the development and utilization of water resource is increasing, waste water emissions increased water pollution and ecological damage. In order to strength the protection of water rsource we should reduce the pollution degree of the water quality and increase the total amount of available water resources. On the other hand, with the continuous improvement of living standard and the increasingly high demand for living quality we should strength the drinking water source management. Then we can improve the quality of water resource and meet the requirements of people with higher on water quality. That can make the city of Taian residents to use good and safe water.The drinking water source of Taian mainly comes from the water in the reservoir area. Huangqian Reservoir is the main source of drinking water. We want to study the protection of the drinking water source in Taian in order to provide the protection for the drinking water source. We analyze the drinking water source protection status on the basis of Huangqian Reservoir drinking water source as an example. This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is introduction.We analyze the background and the significance through the research on the status at home and abroad.Then we determine the method and the main contents of the research. The second part introduces the related concepts and theoretical basis of water resources. The third part analyzes the drinking water source protection status. We maily analyze the basic situation, the status of drinking water protection, the existing problems and the main measures of water source. The fourth part take Huangqian Reservoir as an example,analyse the protection of drinking water, study on the protection of obstacles existing in Huangqian reservoir protection measures. The fifth part introduce the protection of drinking water sources and the countermeasures. To strengthen the supervision management ability construction and the reform of the management system. We perfect the management mechanism.We should improve the water monitoring and the warning system for protection of the ecological environment of reservoir area. We should control the implementation of traffic, speed up the emergency security system, bulid up the lake reservoir emergency protective measures. We must increase the water governance and capital investment, pay attention to the water legislation system. We hope through the above measures to realize the protection of drinking water sources.
