In casting industry，using sand tester to measure and controll the quality of sand canguide casting and control defect．At present，Chinese sand tester is very few with a lackof accuracy，poor reliability and stability．And the existing methods are different fromthe environmental conditions，which can not reflect the actual situation of castingprocess．So the reach of new multi-purpose high temperature performance tester forfoundry sand has important significance to the development of foundry industry inChina．This paper describes the research purpose for resin-bond sendtester， status andtrend．There are two parts including hardware and software throngh design process ofeach module．Finally，introduceing hardware and software debugging，then the resultssummarized．There are three indicators are selected as evaluation parames，conditional thermalstability， limit of thermal compressive strength and thermal expansion．The tester ta-kes accuracy and economic practicaliy into account．The system includs single-chip boxe，furnace，computer，sensors，measurementsystem and servo．The system takes C8051F350as data collection device．The ADC isup to24bits with pre-amplification，decimation filtering and other features making the entire circuit design simple.Interaction is beautiful and saves I/O and MCU，input/output operations．The research combines theory and practice．C#language is used．PID control isused in position and speed control．The interface based on VS2010is more simpl-e．Serial ports communication between microcontroller and computer enables functi-on of control and detection．This article describes the function of the tester with realtime control．The data andcurves can be stored．The results showｑ that the high temperature performance tester for resin-bonded sand can achieve the desired effect with reliability，stability andaccuracy．...
