When the rising oil price influenced our daily life adversely and air quality wascomplained day by day,it seemed to suggest that energy and environmental problemsconnected to everyone’s life tightly.The storage and availability of semiconductor wereboth enormous,and semiconductor had good effect of conversion and storage of solarenergy,at the same time the useful function of semiconductor was the photocatalyticperformance. As wide band gap semiconductor (Eg=3.37eV),ZnO had powerfultransformation and storage of the solar energy,which would create a potential perspectivein the field of photocatalysis.The research wanted to improve the photocatalytic performance of ZnOnano-materials and enhance its response in the visible region of spectrum. First of all, thepreparative part of this topic,the experiment fabricated ZnO nano-particles throughsol-gel method and studied the effects of sintering temperature on the catalyticefficiency,then assured the optimum catalyst inventory,which would underlay thefollow-up study.Secondly,the key part of this topic,La doped ZnO was prepared bysol-gel method to explore the influence of element doping amount and sinteringtemperature on the photocatalytic properties,then analyzed the composite degree ofelectronic-hole through the photoluminescence properties of a material. Finally,thedevelopment of this topic,on one hand, studied whether La element affected in thephotocatalytic property of ZnO with different microstructure or not.On the otherhand,ZnO and ZnO:La grew on stainless steel net was more conducive to recycling andenvironment friendly.Halogen lamp was used as catalytic light source like the sun,the wavelength ofwhich distributed from350nm to1000nm.The photocatalytic property of La doped ZnOwas improved,and its catalytic efficiency was bound up with photoluminescence propertyregularly.In addition, although the catalytic performance of ZnO nano-rods throughhydrothermal preparation was not as good as nano-particles,its photocatalytic efficiencywas enhanced after adulteration.
