The kick and loss are two of the most serious drilling complex incidents on the impact of drilling construction safety. Kick and loss not only seriously hinder the normal drilling operation, reduce the drilling efficiency, but also may result in borehole collapsing, bit freezing, blowout and other downhole complex accidents, and even lead to borehole abandoned and causing heavy casualties. The late detecting for kick and loss will lose valuable time of primary well control, increase the difficulty in accident elimination and secondary well control. At present, the ground monitoring method for early kick and loss is economical and practical in the domestic, but not timely and inaccurate; downhole monitoring method is timely and accurate, but the technology is not mature and system cost is very high, difficultly achieving the industrialized application. Therefore, seeking a ground monitoring method for early kick and loss, effectively playing the ground measurement advantage, economical, practical, timely, accurate, suitable for large-scale popularization and application in field, has important realistic significance.Based on the extensive investigation and study both at home and abroad on monitoring method for early kick and loss, dominating principle of borehole pressure balance, this paper makes the integrated research on monitoring and diagnosis technology for kick the loss, the following results are obtained:1Based on the established monitoring method, this paper completed system hardware, collection of sensor, scheme design of data acquisition and transmission system, then completes the whole scheme design of hardware and software system.2Based on the research of pattern recognition method thoroughly, this paper demonstrates the feasibility of intelligent monitoring and diagnosis for kick and loss based on Bias classification method, model of monitoring and diagnosis for kick and loss is established, technology of monitoring and diagnosis for kick and loss is established based on standpipe pressure and annulus discharge pressure.3According to kick and loss diagnosis model established, with the VB programming language used, this paper designed and developed completed monitoring and diagnosis system for early kick and loss. The instance data of well YY in XX field test showed that:the well section of2312.lm-2334.6m well kick occurs and3122.lm-3131.4m well loss occurs diagnosis results were in good agreement with the actual situation; the system ran stably and had good application value.In this paper, the ground monitoring and diagnosis system for the early kick and loss that were designed and developed give full play to the existing ground measuring instruments and equipment cost advantage, setting the drilling parameters monitor and data real-time acquisition and transmission, data management, drilling data real-time monitoring, kick loss diagnosis and other functions into one, can provide a more comprehensive technical decision support platform for the site technical personnel.
