Pulp density is an important parameter in the process of mineral processing index. The mineral recovery rate, the final concentrate quality, auxiliary reagent dosage of uniform, flotation machine production capacity, mineral processing time, energy, etc. in ore dressing process have important influence on the pulp density. For a long time, the pulp density detection has been a very thorny problem. The main detection methods are concentration pot detection, nuclear density meter and ultrasonic densimeter. Concentration pot detection was carried out by manual operation and the labor intensity is high; Nuclear densimeter is radioactive and it requires high safety measures; Ultrasonic density meter’s price is more expensive and the precision is poor. In order to solve the shortage of the pulp density detection, this paper designs a kind of intelligent pulp concentration on-line detection system based on ARM. It has great significance on realizing the concentration on-line detection of ore dressing process, improving the pulp concentration and fineness of the automatic control level in the dressing process and improving the economic indicators of Ore dressing technology.Firstly, this article expounds the status and the development of pulp density detection, and analyses its working principle and the main problems. For pulp has the characteristics of solid-liquid mixture and easy to precipitate, we design a kind of composite pulp density detection system, which is composed of sensing device and control host. The sensing device is mainly composed of impeller, force sensor, dc motor, sleeve, shaft, etc. When the impeller rotates, it produces a force consistent with the impeller shaft. The force is mainly related to the density of pulp (concentration) size. The pulp density of pulp density can be calculated by measuring the size of the force. Measurement and control host, STM32F103of ARM microcontroller as the core, with signal amplifier, A/D, D/A, DI, DO, communications and touch screen and power, forms a host system integrating signal amplification, sampling, calculation, display, operation management, communication, signal output and other functions. Compared with the existing detection methods, the system we research and design this paper is applied to pulp through the impeller rotating constantly. The flow of pulp has effect on the blade surface, and the force has a kind of function relation with the concentration of the pulp. The forces can be measured by force sensor. We can get the pulp density by the single-chip processing after the signal amplification and A/D conversion to the ARM microcontroller.This paper introduces the principle and application method of force sensor. Studying the relation between concentration and impeller force of law, we designs a measurement and control host based on ARM of integrating detection, communication, display and control. In order to remove the interference elimination of acquisition signal, the influence of filtering algorithm is studied. We study the measurement and control software, including system software development platform, communication driver, display drivers, interrupt program and so on. Build a complete pulp density detection system and realize the online detection for the pulp density and system management.
