With the rapid development of the transport industry and the economy, more and more people own a car. Atmospheric environment is worsening, human health and life-threatening because of the toxic contaminants come from automotive exhaust emissions, such as CO, HC, NOx and particulate matter. At present, in the Auto-catalysts the catalyst of Pt/Ba-Al-O is widely used, however, the main problem of these catalysts is that they are easily deactivated by SO2produced in the combustion chamber by oxidation of S-containing compounds present in the fuel. SO2is stored on the catalyst as BaSO4, that is very stable and leads to the poisoning of the catalyst. In order to solve this problem, in this paper Mg-Al composite oxide has studied as a catalyst carrier obtained by calcined hydrotalcite. Compared to Ba-Al-O catalyst, Mg/Al catalyst has a lower conversion performance and higher ablity of resistance to deactivated by SO2, so it is more practical for lean-burn engines to remove the NOx-In this paper, Mg/Al hydrotalcite precursors obtained by coprecipitation method. Investigation the Mg/Al atomic ratio, pH, aging temperature and aging time on the performance of the hydrotalcite. When the calcination temperature is determined, Mg-Al-O catalyst support obtained by thermal decomposition with high surface area, large pore volume and perfect crystallinity.Pt-Mg-Al-O catalyst obtained through dip the Mg-Al composite oxide in a liquid of H2PtCl·6H2O.
