A Study On The Chinese Communist Party 's View Of Ecological Civilization

Throughout human history, people has created a brilliantcivilization and experienced development periods of primitivecivilization, agricultural civilization and industrial civilization in theprocess of understanding and transforming nature. In the21st century,with rising productivity and increasing levels of production, human’sinitiative are more fully played out, along with more reflections onthe ecological consequences arising from the beginning of theindustrial civilization and the way to forward mankind’s survivalenvironment. In view of contradictions between people’s growingdemand for a better environment and the increasingly grim reality ofecological environment, the Communist Party of China’s economicand social development proceeds strategically from the fundamentalinterests of the country and the people with Marxism-Leninism, MaoZedong ideas, theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics asguidance, and further propose major strategic thoughts for theconstruction of a socialist ecological civilization. Thus, theCommunist Party of China forms the concept of ecologicalcivilization with Chinese characteristics in drawing ecological viewof Marxism, Chinese Traditional Ecological Ethics and in absorbingcritically the fundamentals of Western environmental thoughts.This paper is divided into six parts. Part I introduces theinternational background of ecological civilization, as well as research status and methods at home and abroad about the ecologicalideas of civilization. Part II clarifies the real conditions concept ofecological civilization by the Communist Party of China. Byexamining the ecological theory of Marxism, Chinese TraditionalEcological Ethics and Western environmental trends, the paperanalyzes the ideological source of the formation of the concept ofecological civilization by Communist Party of China. Part III showsthe main difference within the collective leadership of the CommunistParty of China with regard to exploring and combing ideas ofconstructing socialist ecological civilization systematically andinvestigate the formation of Ecological Civilization of theCommunist Party of China vertically and the development processelaborated from the emphasis on environmental issues, then formallyincorporate it into the plan “five as one”. On this basis, the papersummarizes the common characteristics of different ecologicalcivilization thoughts of leaders that have internal consistency,continuous innovation and development, in that the succession arebased on the concept of ecological civilization which togetherconstitute the Communist Party of China. Part IV summarizes fourlevels of the Communist Party of China on the specific content ofEcological Civilization, respectively political, economic, cultural,social levels. By inspecting ecological civilization in the whole socialprocess, the article summarized its specific characteristics and futuredirection. Part V: On the basis of longitudinal and transverse study on the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics from theperspective of guiding and enriching the theoretical system ofsocialism with Chinese characteristics, the article summarize bothpractical and theoretical contributions of the concept of ecologicalcivilization by the Communist Party of China. Part VI is theConclusion of this article. Over time, the concept of ecologicalcivilization and the Communist Party of China will continue todevelop and enrich itself while the construction of ecologicalcivilization is bound to be a long, gradual process."
