Language is one of carrier of human culture, which plays a very important role in cultural heritage, so the extinction of language always means a human culture disappears which contacts with human being. In order to protect the endangered languages, it is necessary to research the regulation mechanism and dynamic characters of language spreading, language competition to reveal language decline, disappearance and the cause of language coexistence, so that we can seek methods to protect the endangered languages. The modeling method based on agent complex network is one of methods to build a dynamic model of language competition, but there are some problems in these modeling methods. The first one is that the networks in these models are ideal and static networks which are not suitable for real social networks. The second one is that languages in these models have no vocabulary so that the models cannot show the gradual process of languages’vocabularies evolution. The third one is that the status of languages cannot be changed in the model and the model cannot simulate the different level of social economy and the population in social mobility have effects on language competition, in the other words the simulation model spaces are homogeneous which does not match the real social network model. In the real society, the status of weak language may be higher than a common language in the local area of community which forms the protection area of weak language. In order to solve these problems, the main research work of this paper can be summarized as the following three aspects.(1)The model in the paper combines Sugarscape and social circle network to build a social circle network based on Sugarscape. Different resource distribution in Sugarscape space simulates the different level of economic development in the real language network and there is a resource regeneration mechanism. So the Sugarscape space can be divided into different areas according to the different resource distribution. The attributes and behavior rules of agents are set in Sugarscape space. Agents are living in the Sugarscape to simulate a growing artificial society. The social circle network based on Sugarscape is dynamic and the parameters of the network are closer to the real social network. The distribution of resource and the rule of resource regeneration could be different in different Sugarscape area. In this way, the model could move on to the simulation of language competition under different agents living situation、different migration movement and a different level of economic cultural development and according to the results of simulation to get some policies in protecting endangered language.(2)This paper proposes a bilingual competitive model based on Sugarscape and agent social circle network. The social circle networks of agents are built-in the Sugarscape space and agents live in the space according to the behavior rules. The horizontal spread and competition of language-language learning and language forgetting are happening in the social circle networks of agents. The vertical spread and competition of language are happening in agents’reproduction.(3)This paper also proposes a bilingual competition model which the language own vocabularies. Both language 1 and language 2 have two 10-length bit-strings vocabulary tables, they are language 1 vocabulary table and language 2 vocabulary table. Every agent in the model has language 1 vocabulary table and language 2 vocabulary table. The bit-strings of language 1 vocabulary table are not all zero and language 2 vocabulary tables are zero when the agent is a language 1 agent. It is same to the language 2 agents’vocabulary table. Both language 1 and language 2 vocabulary tables are not all zero when the agent is bilingual agent. The horizontal spread and competition of language vocabularies-language vocabularies learning and language vocabularies forgetting are happening in the social circle networks of agents. The vertical spread and competition of language vocabularies are happening in agents’reproduction.The simulated model based on social circle network can simulate the language competition and the transmission mechanism in the real social network and then the results of simulation provide the theoretical basis for protecting endangered language. It plays a positive role in the protection of endangered languages.
