Temperature is one of the dominant factor that affect plant geographic distribution in climate, especially in the northern region, because of the high latitude.The low temperature stress is a kind of disasters frequently encountered in plant cultivation, involved in horticultural plants, food crops, and many other economic plants. Low temperature affect metabolism of plants, related physiological indicators of change, and lead to damaging of the growthing plants, even lead to death. Jinzhong area is a typical northern region, the low temperature stress is usually one of the disasters, it is very important for the future introduction, cultivation, breeding, garden afforestation maintenance management to investigating plant cold hardiness., thus to improve the level of environmental construction management environment.This article firstly summarize the studies on plant cold hardiness, then investigating plant cold hardiness through open check, frost disaster survey methods in jinzhong area, finally classificating and grading the degree of cold hardiness. The results of this analysis combined with actual situation in the study area, finally pointed countermeasures suitable for the development of the local plant cold hardiness. In this paper, main conclusions are as follows:(1) In the investigation of cold resistance of trees, shrubs and herbs, strength trees (76.6%)> shrub (59.0%)>herb (57.5%). Woody plants cold resistance is stronger than herbaceous plant, and the more strong, the accumulation of growth plants ligniflcation fight cold ability stronger, the cold resistance strength of trees is significantly higher than the shrub and herb.(2) Wild trees, wild shrubs and herbs hardiness intensity is in the order:herb (56.5%)> tree (44.2%) > shrub (30.4%). Planting trees and shrubs of cultivation and planting herbs is trees (32.6%)> shrub> 28.5%) herb (10.0%). That hardiness is greater than the introduction of varieties of wild species, native species of hardiness. Wild herbs of cold resistance ability is greater than the trees and shrubs because of cultivated herb fight cold ability is very weak, increasing the proportion of the total number of wild herb in the investigation herbs.(3) In the investigation of the weak resistance of plants, trees only one tree, wild shrubs and wild herb is zero, Darwinian evolution rate of survival of the fittest. Cultivars, arbor, shrub and herb order of hardiness:herb (27.4%)> shrub (21.9%)> tree (8.1%). Herb hardiness is the weakest, also suggests that people’s dependency on imported and south herb, and the local herbs of the defects in development and utilization.(4)Strong cold resistance of medicinal and edible plants, vast resources, not only to carry out a variety of management and the main body, promote economic prosperity and good effect, at the same time guarantee the health of the people there are of great significance. But these wild resources development and utilization are very few, many more for wild species, useless formed the scale of production, vigorously develop, wild resource waste.(5) New varieties breeding, cold resistance breeding is important to improve the cold stress resistance of plant, the basic way is reducing chilling injury. After long-term research in various scientific research units and universities, scientific research personnel jinzhong area has bred a lot of cold resistance varieties, such as "face" jade "yellow chuhe dragon" chrysanthemum tea varieties, such as to avoid and reduce chilling injury loss played an important role.
