China is not a country with copper supporting greatly, but also a country with poor resource of copper. The Yimen copper mine is the significant copper resource area in the middle of Yunnan province, and in which There are lots of copper ores. Recently, the Shifeng mountain in Yimen copper mine has had to face to close, however, Tongchang copper area has the basic conditions of replacing diggings. Being committed by the limited company of Yuxi mine, the Kunming university of science and technology have a research of the mineralizing regularities and ore predicting of the Yimen Tongchang and its ouside, and provide the scientific evidences to choose the replacing dinggings.In 2010, the Yunnan nonferrous geological survey geological and geophysical prospecting institute chemistry has carried out the geophysics works and obtain the certain achievements at the south of Tongchang ore area. But there are no the relevant geophysics works at the north. The induced polarization method(IP) is the rapid-. high-sufficient and economic method of exploring copper mine, which can find the mine with the smaller scale or the deeper depth; The high frequency magnetotelluric method(EH4) have the characters of high-accuracy、high-resolution、light-equipment、 deep-exploring-depth(1 thousand metres) and obvious reaction to the low resistivity anomalies. The scanning surface work of IP is proceeded in the Xinzhuang ore area at the north of TongChang mine area, then combining with the distributions and characters of the IP abnormities、 the geography conditions and so on, there are the EH4 work arranged in the significant place to in order to mainly find the hydrothermal vein type mine, simultaneously find the Tongchang style mine.There are scanning surface work of IP at 0.35 in the area of square kilometres with 50 X 20m network、 section work of EH4 in the 1.8 kilometres long with 20m dot distance and 211 pieces of rock and ore specimen collected at the Xinzhuang diggings.With the statistics and analysis of physical property characteristics of rock (ore),the rock and ore’s of parameter magnetism eletricity、 radioactivity and density is summarized and concluded. As for the interference of carbonaceous layer in the exploring area, in order to emphasize the abnormities of mine and distinguish between regional field and abnormal field, and the datas of IP collecting are handled by OLS trend analysis, there are nine IP abnormities in total. After the datas of EH4 are handled by IMAGEM inversion, the inversion results show that the datas may be influenced by static effect, then choosing EMAP and wavelet suppressing to tackle the static effect, there are 28 EH4 abnormities in total. In the article at the basis of collecting the exploring area informations of geology> geophysics and geochemistry,there has been established the geophysics and geochemistry’s abnormal mode.Then through the analysis and explanation of both IP abnormities and EH4 abnormities, meanwhile combining with the character of geology%the controlling ore’s formation and the establishing mode as so on, there are three targets of exploring ore found,then by guessing and evaluating the vision of resource in exploring area is approximate thirty thousand tons.With target I-3 being verified, the copper mine of hydrothermal vein is found. It has testified the ways of geophysical prospecting are efficient, and should point out directions of the next prospecting in TongChang diggings.
